Samsung Galaxy S6 Active Review: Everything you need to know about the phone

After many assumptions and other online rumors, Samsung has finally launched its one of the most talked about smartphone of the year.Samsung galaxy s6 is now exclusively available on AT&T in the US from the AT&T website and via the company’s physical retail store.

The first word when I saw the phone is that it is not good looking phone like s6 or iPhone 6.But it is not made for that purpose either. As the name suggests, it is made for active peoples.Samsung adds waterproofing, protection against drops, a larger battery and unique physical buttons to this phone.Cheap black plastic chassis is used on the phone and it is studded with fake metal rivets. The phone doesn’t feel or look upmarket or expensive.

The Galaxy S6 Active features a 5.1-inch Quad HD (1440×2560 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 577ppi. The phone’s display is as amazing as Samsung galaxy s6’s display its delivers great viewing angle and outdoor visibility. It follows the S6 with its true-to-life colors, spot-on color temperature. But the colours on the super AMOLED panel looks a little bit saturated sometimes.Overall it is one of the best display panels of the year.

From  performance and software perspective both the S6 and the S6 Active are identical. The phone performs best thanks to its speedy Exynos 7420 processor.Everything feels very snappy thanks to Samsung’s slimmed-down TouchWiz.The phone is running on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box which is good. The phone has 3GB of RAM so it can handle multitasking easily. For more details on specification visit GSMARENA.

As all of you guys know that Samsung galaxy s6’s camera is one of the best smartphone camera periods.Same as S6, there is a 16-megapixel rear camera and LED flash while there is a 5-megapixel front camera present on the phone. The back camera has f1/9 lens same as Samsung galaxy s6 which is great for low light. The camera packs with some great features such as quick launch, tracking AF, auto real-time HDR, f/1.9, IR detect white balance, low light video, high clear zoom, virtual shot, slow motion, fast motion, pro mode, and selective focus. You can record 4k with this beast.

Overall this camera is one of the best cameras in any smartphone present in the market.

The Galaxy S6 Active is backed by a 3500mAh battery with wireless charging clubbed with Ultra Power saving mode and fast charging tech. The battery backup is decent with max brightness playing youtube videos it lasts for 8 hrs, which is very good.I can easily say that this is the best battery life in any android phone I have ever seen.It has 32GB of internal storage.Of the 32GB of internal storage, 24.45GB is available to users out of the box.

Some “Activity Zone” features are available for this active phone. Some features like quick launching compass, flashlight, stopwatch, and more have been included. The smartphone also comes pre-installed with the Samsung Knox security framework. The Activity Zone’s  grid displays some great information of current weather, barometric readings, compass coordinates which are very useful.

Samsung has ditched the capacitive navigation buttons for physical ones for Samsung galaxy s6 active. The Galaxy S6 Active features physical buttons for the Home, Back and the Recent apps buttons. The solid click makes for a better experience.

Samsung has not revealed the price of the handset yet, but it will be priced around $600.The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active is now available on the AT&T website and via the company’s physical retail store.

If you are a Samsung fanboy, don’t care about looks and always puts a case on your phone for protection then this is a perfect phone for you. With the same performance, camera, display as the standard S6 and an extra large 3500mAh battery this phone are highly recommended from us.
